Football: Hercules High Wins, Pinole Valley Loses

The Titans shut down Mission High, 44-0, in their home opener

Hercules High School's football team captured its first win of the season by shutting out Mission High of San Francisco, 44-0, on Friday night.

The Titans scored 14 points in the first quarter and then cruised to victory on their home field.

Hercules is now 1-1 on the season. Their next game is against Salesian High at 7 p.m. Friday, again on their home turf.

Meanwhile, Pinole Valley High's football team lost its second consecutive game.

The Spartans were beaten, 37-14, by Oakland Tech High at the PVHS field on Friday night.

Pinole Valley is now 0-2. Their next game is against Rancho Cotate High at 5 p.m. Friday in Rohnert Park.
