Yeah, and WHERE did the crime occur Susan? And where did the victim live? And where was the otherRead More suspect from? You guessed it~the answer to all three is: Richmond!!
Susan April 23, 2014 at 06:40 pm
good luck with your hate and hate speech. Hope it makes you feel good to hate a whole community.
Alvin Mabuhay April 23, 2014 at 07:00 pm
Who said hate? Not me...you are the only one to use that word. You take offense to anyone who pointsRead More out the obvious, like somehow you are responsible for Richmond's horrible reputation. And btw, Richmond did not earn it's reputation by the comments of one Patch contributor. There have been countless articles written, countless news reports and countless crime victims that gave Richmond it's reputation. You like it there? Great...Richmond needs good people with some hometown pride. But pride alone doesn't change the facts Susan. How was your ride along? Take one and you will see what I had to deal with for over a 1/4 century.

WHy is TARGET STORES a continual mlving-TARGET for these Thugs, Gangsta's Punks? Pinole Target hasRead More had "numerous-problems" w/these "illegal-activites" from shop-lifting, panhandling, loittering,. muggings, auto-theft, drug-dealings, stabbings, illegal-parking/dumpings, etc! Target Stores should step-up and help increase law-enforcement on their property, especially the "parking-lot areas" since it's taking a toll on "Pinole Police Manpower drain" while endangering public health and safety!
Hugo April 16, 2014 at 09:43 am
Let me guess, this man was not really qualified for the job but got the job because of affirmativeRead More action. Just like other "entitled" people who think the world owes them and they just take. All the liberals feels so sorry for these people that they just let it slide by. Remember Muslim bakery? I know someone who worked at a section 8/ below market housing complex. Drug dealers were living there after their grandmothers died. People threw garbage all over and trashed their apartments and then demanded to have the apartments renovated. Our system is broken. Personal responsibility is what we need. Also, in a civilized society, people think about what is good for the whole, not just the individual.

We could be reading a similar story about every single one of our "public servants",Read More democrat or republican. Everything is for sale for what amounts to peanuts to the corporations and criminals that make "political contributions". The larger we allow the state to grow the worse this is going to get. "when you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see money flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - When you see that men get richer by graft and pull then by work, and your laws don't protect you against them but protect them against you - when you see corruption Being rewarded and honestly being a self sacrifice, you may know that your society is doomed." Ayn Rand

It is unbelievable to me that he is still collecting his salary. While the federal government wagesRead More a war on terrorism, Yee tries to sell them weapons. I hope he sees the inside of a prison as a result. Imagine how the other corrupt politicians in Sacramento are sweating.

The superintendent works for our school board who work for our children.
Giorgio C. March 29, 2014 at 10:17 am
Yes, but remember this relationship is analogous to that of the City Manager and City Council. TheRead More City Manager is supposed to know which procedures are best for getting the job done. The City Council, and WCCUSD Board, are a group of elected amateurs who know little to nothing about protocol. They are supposed to hire/appoint someone who does. This is one more example of when the Superintendent has to be told how to do their job. The other recent example was OCR having to tell the Superintendent which procedures were lacking to meet Title IX requirements. Last year, I shared with the school board and the Superintendent my concerns about the lack of procedures pertaining to the Ivy League Connection program. My concern, as I told them, was that they had district employees (not teachers) chaperoning children during these visits to these colleges. What procedures were in place for ensuring that our children were safe with these chaparones? I got blasted by one of the Ivy League Coordinators for this, but the board and Superintendent agreed that some clear procedures were needed for this program. Our Superintendent has his strong points. For everything else, he is relying on his staff to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. This is why I don't understand why everyone is opposed to paying administrators what they are worth. They fulfill a critical function. Just like teachers, we need to recruit and retain the best administrators, too.

Anybody who criticizes Leland Yee is racist. Felonies not withstanding....
Hutch March 28, 2014 at 09:10 pm
What's the difference between Leland Yee doing favors for political contributions and otherRead More politicians doing favors to unions and corporations? The whole system is rigged to screw taxpayers. They need to stop all personal gifts and corporate donations including unions.
Hutch March 31, 2014 at 02:19 pm
It's time for this crap to stop. Send Jerry Hill a message Senator.Hill@senate.ca.gov Tell him toRead More change laws to stop all "gifts" and stop contributions by lobbyists, corporations and unions. Also if a politician is suspended they should lose all pay and benefits unless they are later exonerated.
CHACHA March 26, 2014 at 03:58 pm
Wonder why no mention of a school suspension or any other school discipline as a consequence forRead More this students action of serious/bad behavior? Is there no rule/policy to address this by the WCCSD/Dept of Education, other than a slap-on-the wrist citation by the local police dept?
CHACHA March 28, 2014 at 02:18 pm
God forbid, but if ever some student, kid, adult school employee, & or auto/home/bizRead More gunshot/knife-stabbing, accident/robbery victims, ailing-aging seniors w/health issues, etc ever needs medical-emergency/hospitalization care it will be a sad day for these people needing medical care, as the WCCCounty Health System & it's residents will soon face waay-bigger problems if not challenges when the only Hospital (Doctor's Hospital & Emergency room, in/outpatient services, etc) may likely "go-bankrupt/close-down" (w/a multi-millions indebt/shortfall) sometime after May 2014 if they dont get a big local-tax measure bailout (no fed or state govt funding?) , philanthropic gift or etc asap, that looks pretty doubtful if not sad! WCCC residents will have to rely on far-away/outside Hospitals like John Muir in Walnut Creek, Oakland's Alta Bates, Sutter Health n/or Children's Hospitals N Kaiser (only for Kaiser members), yes, a sad problem!

He was 59 and may have come on hard times, thogh I do not blame the land lord. You have to payRead More property taxes etc. But still, we need a safety net. Seriously. So no one fear being kicked to the street. Hard times or not. BTW, but for the grace of God go I, any of us. You can work hard for years,. Things can happen. To any of us. I cannot imagine, and this is very sad. It is stories like this that make me rethink my own life. And excesses I may have, also what I might take for granted, and not take them for granted. I would be all for a luxury and or sin tax for money for this safety net. If we want a vacation home or things we do not really need, pay a little more for it and have the money help these people. And maybe us someday. Life can throw you some curve balls..

What this person did is a crime and it should be treated as such. This story seemed to have theRead More makings of a lie from the beginning yet you can't say something like that otherwise you're chastised as being a hater when in real life, the actual hater was the person making up the story, why should it not be equally classified as a hate crime? Let the law sort it out. Most everyone has experienced some form of bullying or another but back in the day we dealt with it and moved on.
Sarah Creeley March 6, 2014 at 07:16 am
I wholeheartedly disagree with those who have chosen this 15 year old's actions as an opportunity toRead More voice their prejudice against people who are transgendered. You are all waiting in the wings , and when something hurtful happens, involving a transgendered person, (even if it's a child), you all come scurrying out like cockroaches. Yes, what he did was wrong, and like Ramsey said, we must look into it further. What on earth gives those of you who post hate on the Patch to think you are so much better than anyone else? Giorgio is right, your posts are hate speech. What the 15 year old did was wrong. Does that make your hurtful responses ok? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

This is the most of despicable acts that this trannygeneral person did. Whats this tranny did is aRead More crime and he/she/it needs to be punished in the courts and sent to juvenile prison. That person created histeria anger and the hatred to many peoples. They is lucky that he/she/it did not actualy name any body as the people who did the attacks. this 15 year old waisted the time, moneies and valuable resources of the school and police to gets the attention. They should not be rewarded or excused for that behavior but should be punished to the fullest extents of the law.

I agree that the editor is overworked. I think it would be a good idea for us to have a "tipRead More line" to send ideas for stories and "scoops" directly to the editor. Some people don't want to write full articles, but this way we could inform the editor and they can check it out in a more timely manner. Don't make it too fancy.
