The main problem, for a restaurant or any other business, is that it's in a somewhat out-of-the-way location, far from any other commercial activity; nobody just casually passing through town on San Pablo Avenue would know it's there. Sala once even resorted to stationing a sign-waggler at the corner of San Pablo and Sycamore!
