<p>This is a Buddhist temple of the Nichiren Shoshu tradition. The temple keeps a daily morning and evening schedule for temple and holds many ceremonies throughout the year. It leads pilgrimages to the Head Temple of Nichiren Shoshu at Japan's Mt. Fuji.</p> <p>Worship is based on the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin, born the son of a Japanese fishermen nearly 800 years ago. Daishonin became a Buddhist priest at 16 years old.</p> <p>The temple welcomes visits from the public every day and encourages people to call or send an email if they have questions or would like to arrange an introductory meeting.</p> <p>Not visible from the street, the temple is located behind the Bay Park Retirement Residence on Appian Way. There is a parking lot behind the retirement residence.</p> <p> </p>
