WCCUSD School Board To Hear About Property Assessments, Bond Projects

The West Contra Costa Unified School District board of education will hear from the county assessor at its next meeting about the possibility of raising property assessments.

The board meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at DeJean Middle School, 3400 Macdonald Ave. in Richmond.

County Assessor Gus Kramer will report to the board on a district proposal to raise the assessments on properties that were de-valued during the recent housing slump.

WCCUSD officials say property values in the district fell 19 percent during a two-year period.

The board will also hear reports on the bond sale scheduled for this fall as well as some of the projects the bond money is expected to fund.
