Town Hall Thursday Night on the Future of Schools in Hercules

The West Contra Costa Unified School District is gathering public input on a future five-year strategic plan.

What should schools in Hercules look like in five years?

That's the question the West Contra Costa Unified School District is asking, and will hold a town hall meeting at Hercules High School Thursday to get the community's input on the district's next five-year strategic plan.

“The District is engaging the public in a way I have never witnessed before and I am confident that this emphasis on public input and discussion will lead to a bold and thoughtful five-year plan for the District,” School Board Trustee Todd Groves said in a press release.

The district is holding six town hall meetings in all, and about 100 people attended Wednesday's meeting at Crespi Library, the district said on its Facebook page.

Thursday's meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Hercules High School library. Another town hall will be held at 6:30 p.m. on May 9 in the Pinole Middle School multipurpose room.
