School District Selects New Principals for Hercules High School, Middle School

Information submitted by the West Contra Costa Unified School District:

The West Contra Costa Unified School District Board of Education on Wednesday night named Paul Mansingh, Ed.D. principal of Hercules High School and L. Renee Lama principal of Hercules Middle School.

Mansingh, currently the assistant principal of Hercules Middle School, has served as a physical education teacher, activities director, and associate principal at high schools in San Jose, CA.

Lama is currently an assistant principal at Kennedy High School, a position she has held since 2011. She has also served as a social science teacher in the district from 1999 to 2011.

“I have the utmost confidence that Paul and Renee have the student-centered focus that will be necessary to create the kind of schools the Hercules community deserves and demands,” Superintendent Bruce Harter said. “Their expertise and skills are right in line with the priorities expressed by parents and students. I look forward to their leadership, and watching as those schools continue their academic growth and improvement.”

Mansingh earned his masters in educational administration from San Jose State University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Argosy University.

Lama received a masters in education leadership from California State University East Bay.
