Your City Council Live: Council Chooses Three Hercules Women of the Year

Patch reports on the Tuesday, January 10 Hercules City Council meeting.

Three Herculeans were chosen as tentative Hercules Woman--or women--of the Year for 2012.

At Tuesday's Hercules City Council meeting, Councilwoman Myrna de Vera was first to make a nomination. She picked local elementary school teacher and community activist Sarah Creeley. Councilman Bill Wilkins nominated Rotary Club of Hercules President Dee Lopez, and Councilman Gerard Boulanger nominated city volunteer and former recall leader Lori Chinn.

Mayor Dan Romero and Vice Mayor John Delgado did not make nominations. No vote was taken on who of the three nominees would become 2012 Hercules Woman of the Year. The council settled on recognizing the three women to hold the title.
