Waterfront Blog Asks Residents to Show Transit Center Support

The county transit authority board will vote on appropriating funds to start construction on Hercules' planned train station.

Intermodal Transit Center funding will go before the Contra Costa Transit Authority board for a vote Wednesday. Local blog Waterfront Watch is calling on supporters of the project to encourage county Supervisor Federal Glover to pass Hercules’ request to appropriate funding for initial phase construction of the Hercules Rail Station project.

“It is imperative that supporters of the project encourage him to approve the required funding. Although (Glover) is reportedly a supporter himself, he will very likely have to convince other board members to ensure approval, and it does not hurt reminding him how important this project is to Hercules residents and the region,” Jeffrey Wisniewski wrote on Waterfront Watch.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 21 at 6 p.m. at 2999 Oak Road, Suite 110, Walnut Creek, CA 94597.
