Poll: Should Pinole Contract With the Rodeo-Hercules Fire District?

Let us know what you think.

As we reported in, the Pinole City Council stated its preference to explore a formal partnership with the Rodeo-Hercules Fire District to provide fire services. Rodeo-Hercules proposed a 10-year deal at $3.21 million in the first year, with incremental increases annually.

A council majority made the selection over an alternate proposal from the Contra Costa Fire Protection District, which offered a five-year deal at an intial cost of $3.63 million in the first year.

One council member, Phil Green, said that all options should remain open, including discussions with the city of Richmond as an alternative.
