Pinole City Manager's Weekly Report

A proposal for storm water fees, pending changes to flood zone maps and a playground slide recall and replacement are among the topics in the report for the week ending Feb. 24.

City Manager Belinda Espinosa advises homeowners to watch for a ballot in the mail for a proposed $19 per home fee increase for owners of single-family homes. As a property owner, the city is subject to the tax, and the city council is scheduled to discuss how the city should cast its vote at the March 6 council meeting.

The reports also discusses the recall and replacement of playground equipment at Pinole Valley Park, federal re-assessment of local flood plain zones, recruitment of two public members on a county commission and an award for Pinole Planning Commissioner Norma Martinez-Rubin.

Lastly, the report gives contact information for groups that would like to submit work projects for and it releases a summary of activity at the Pinole Animal Shelter for January.
