This week's report is full of — events. And fundraisers and announcements.

City Manager Belinda Espinosa's report includes a lot of upcoming community events, fundraisers, new business enterprises and an update of building permit activity. The attached document has details about:

  • The number and valuation of city building permits in February held steady, at around $1.2 million, following a similar rise in January.
  • The Pinole Youth Commission is hosting "Pinole's Got Talent." It's a show of entertainment scheduled for March 16 at the
  • A March 24 fundraiser for community theater is a dinner show, the Third Annual Cabaret, at the Pinole Senor Center. It will raise money for improvements to the Pinole Playhouse and to support the Pinole Community Players and the .
  • , an event for volunteers to participate in beautification and cleanup projects, is looking for organizations to suggest projects and for sponsors and volunteers. The event is scheduled for June 2 and is organized by the Pinole Community Service Commission.
  • The has landed a major sponsor for its second annual golf tournament and fundraiser. Richmond Sanitary Service has agreed to support the July 19 tournament.

As we have reported previously, the city planning commission has for the expansion of to add a banquet room and bar.

The commission also for a church and after-school program in a vacant space at the Pinole Shores Business Park.
