Pinole City Council to Talk $1.2M Grant for Firefighters

The Pinole City Council will meet this week.

Firefighters in Pinole are receiving a $1.2 million boost from a federal grant, and the Pinole City Council will meet this week to discuss formally accepting that money.

The grant should help cover needs including maintaining 24-hour staffing, increasing the fire department's roster of frontline firefighters and hiring and rehiring firefighters who were laid off because of budget cuts, Patch reported previously.

The council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, and will also discuss a liquor license for Abby’s Grill, 2320 San Pablo Ave., and will hear an update on another grant.
