Interstate 80 Eastbound HOV Lane Extension Project Continues

Expect ramp closures through Tuesday.

Caltrans—Construction activities continue for the Interstate 80 Eastbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane Extension Project. Caltrans will close two lanes on eastbound I-80, from State Route 4 to the Crockett off-ramp, on Sunday morning, Aug. 28, from midnight to 9 a.m., and Sunday night, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Lane closures for eastbound I-80 will continue Monday, Aug. 29, and Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. In addition, Caltrans will close two lanes on westbound I-80 Tuesday night, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Ramp Closures for Miscellaneous Activities

· Eastbound I-80 Willow Avenue on-ramp: Saturday night, Aug. 27, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.; Sunday night, Aug. 28, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

· Eastbound I-80 Cummings Skyway off-ramp: Saturday, Aug. 27, from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m.; Sunday night, Aug. 28, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.; Monday, Aug. 29, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

· Eastbound I-80 Cummings Skyway on-ramp: Friday, Aug. 26,
from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., and Saturday, Aug. 27, from 11 p.m. to 9
a.m.; Sunday night, Aug. 28, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

· The eastbound I-80 connector to eastbound SR 4 will be
closed Monday, Aug. 29, and Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 10 p.m. to 6
a.m. Detour: Take the Willow Avenue off-ramp, turn right on Willow
Avenue, left on San Pablo Avenue, and left on John Muir Parkway/State
Route 4.

The Interstate 80 Eastbound HOV Lane Project extends the carpool lane from State Route 4 to the Carquinez Bridge. It was opened to traffic on May 24, 2011. However, there are still some additional construction activities on ramps in the project area.

Please drive cautiously through the construction zone and leave a safe
traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.
