Interim Mayor Ward Responds to Recall

Acting Mayor Joanne Ward responds to the recall targeting two City Council members, including herself.

To the citizens of Hercules:

I recognize and respect that our nation was founded on the principle that it is the right of the People to either alter or abolish and institute new Government when appropriate.

I also recognize that the previous city council, of which I was a member, has lost the public trust. I pledge to work hard with your new city council to do whatever is necessary to right the ship.

It has been my honor and privilege to serve you, and I dedicate the remainder of my term, whether it be years or months, to restoring your trust in both me and your city council.

Very truly yours,

Joanne Ward

It's time to stop being polite and trying not "offend" anyone with our responses. All of us are going to have to pay through the nose with increased property taxes to cover all these losses. Hopefully all of these people are responsible are being vigorously investigated by the Grand Jury and the FBI. They can be found guilty by either comission or omission. The hard part will be tracking down all the cash. Ultimately, we'll be the ones to take it in the shorts. In plain speak, Ms. Ward, get out.

Too much, too little, too late.

Folks, The website now has a copy of the Grand Jury Report and City Response which is interesting, given all that we have now learned. Go to herculesrecall.com and click on "background". There you will find all sorts of information, articles, reports, etc. you can print out, read at your leisure, etc. Hopefully, you will also share this information with your neighbors!

Joanne Ward's few words above do little to make me want to support her as a leader of our city.

Well.....looks like the tribe has spoken once again Interim Mayor Ward. Trust was broken. It's hard to regain that at this point in time. Too much damage has been done and it's time for you and Councilman Kuehne to go. Preserve your legacy while there is still some left. If you really, really want to stop this ship from sinking, follow the will of the people just like what Mr. Balico did. Trust, is hard to earn but so easy to break. It is irreparable.
