Pinole City Treasurer Requests Papers to File for Re-election

Judy Lee shows interest in another term.

Pinole City Treasurer Judy Lee has requested the paperwork necessary to file for re-election in the Nov. 6 election, according to Pinole City Clerk Patricia Athenour.

Lee and any other aspiring candidates have until August 10 to return the filing papers, along with at least 20 signatures of registered voters to qualify for the ballot. If Lee chooses not to file for another four-year term, the filing period for other candidates would be extended to Aug. 15.

Lee's current term expires in December. Historically, the office of city treasurer has not been heavily contested.

As of the end of business hours Tuesday, no other candidates had expressed official interest in the city treasurer position. No city council candidates have yet requested papers, Athenour said. The seats of council members Pete Murray and Roy Swearingen are up for election this year.
