Governor Declares State of Emergency in Contra Costa County

Governor Jerry Brown signed a proclamation declaring a state of emergency in Contra Costa, and 18 other counties, due to damage caused by recent storms.

Friday, Governor Jerry Brown signed a proclamation declaring a in Contra Costa County, and 18 other counties, due to damage caused by recent storms.

It is still unclear what the proclamation will mean in terms of aid to the City of Hercules or residents affected by the , which has forced four households to evacuate in recent weeks.

"All agencies of the state government shall use and employ state personnel, equipment and facilities for the performance of any and all activities consistent with the direction of the California Emergency Management Agency and the State Emergency Plan," the proclamation reads.
