Four More Qualify for City Council Race

Four more residents have qualified as candidates in the November Hercules City Council election.

Residents Gerard Boulanger, Sherry McCoy, Hector Rubio and Phil Simmons qualified as candidates in the Hercules City Council election, City Clerk Doreen Mathews said Wednesday.

To qualify as a candidate, residents must get 20 signature endorsements that are then validated by the Contra Costa County Elections Division.

Boulanger is the only incumbent to qualify so far. All three city councilmen up for re-election in the November pulled nomination papers.
