Field of Candidates Set for School Board Election
Incumbent Medrano, three others will compete for two seats on the West Contra Costa Unified School District governing body.
Voters will chose among four candidates to fill two seats on the West County school board, as the filing period for the Nov. 6 election closed on Wednesday.
Incumbent Antonio Medrano will seek a second term. The other three candidates to qualify for the ballot are retired school principal Randall Enos, business man and school volunteer Robert Studdiford and parent and school volunteer Todd Groves.

Incumbent Tony Thurmond chose not seek a second term. He released on Aug. 11.
The large West Contra Costa district ranges from El Cerrito and Kensington in the south to Hercules in the north.

Elections for the five seats on the school board are staggered every two years. Board members serve four-year terms.
