City Manager's Report: More Budget Meetings, New Playgrounds, Fundraisers and More

Weekly report includes information about a new drop-off point for unwanted medicines and reminders about garage sale and golf tournament fundraisers.

Pinole City Manager Belinda Espinosa announced a third city council budget workshop meeting scheduled for June 12 and council consideration of adopting a budget on June 19 in her report for the week ending June 8.

The workshop will be the third public meeting on the 2012-13 budget proposal, which includes scenarios with and without renewal of the city utility users tax. The tax collects about $2 million a year in revenue and is due to expire this year unless voters approve an measure expected to be placed on the November ballot.

Espinosa's report also discloses a new drop-off location for unwanted household medicines in the police department and the opening this weekend of new playground equipment at Louis Francis and Canyon parks.

Espinosa also urged participation in two fundraisers. One is the citywide garage sale on Jun23 and the Pinole Recreation golf tournament on July 16 at Franklin Canyon Golf Course.
