City Council Candidate Boulanger Releases Statement On Challenger Kuehne's Accusations

Hercules City Council candidate released a document Tuesday in response a series of allegations made by challenger ’s campaign about Boulanger’s political, educational and professional background.

Kuehne’s campaign asserted that there were discrepancies between background information Boulanger provided on city documents and his candidate statement and Linkedin page. Questions were also raised about missing information on where Boulanger served as councilman in France and which businesses he is associated with.

In Boulanger’s document responding the Kuehne campaign accusations he asks that Kuehne “cease the misuse of city information to gain political advantage, and that he cease publishing false allegations against me and the other reform candidates,” but he did not address most of the specific questions Kuehne’s campaign posed.

Hercules Patch has also asked the Boulanger questions about his background, including where he served as councilman, to which Boulanger replied, “I don’t give details about where or what political status I was at that time because it’s irrelevant. It’s about what you can do for your city.”

about Boulanger's background were raised in election mailers put out by Kuehne's campaign last week. The mailers included a link to a website, WholeTruthAboutBoulanger.com, which had photos and information about Boulanger as well as what appeared to be stock images of people holding their noses to avoid a bad smell.

Boulanger spoke to Hercules Patch Sunday, while Kuehne gave a brief response, about the mailers and webiste.
