City Asks Residents to Help Stop Illegal Dumping

Hercules has seen an increase in dumping along local streets.

Increasing amounts of oil, garbage and who knows what else has been dumped along Hercules streets recently.

Construction debris is left along Claey’s Ranch Road almost daily, while 25 to 30 gallons of oil were dumped at the end of Linus Pauling last week alone, according to a report put out by interim City Manager Liz Warmerdam.

“It’s really a problem for us. It’s very difficult for us to stay on top of that,” Warmerdam said.
