In its 9th year now, the Counties Care Holiday Food Fight is a challenge between employees of Contra Costa and Solano counties to raise funds for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. County employees in all departments have held bake sales, auctions, raffles and drawings of all sorts with the sole purpose of helping the Food Bank serve the people that often need the support of various county programs. What is special about this year’s drive is that the counties expect to surpass one million dollars in a cumulative total of funds raised—in less than ten years. This drive was started by employees and they continue to be the primary donors; however, the public is invited to support the employees of their county by going online and contributing to the Counties Care Holiday Food Fight.
