Trio Robbed Liquor Store in Pinole at Gunpoint

By Bay City News

Three men held up a Pinole liquor store at gunpoint on Tuesday night, police said. Officers were called around 6:55 p.m. to Jay Vee Liquor Store, located in a shopping center at 2701 Pinole Valley Road, just off of Interstate Highway 80, on reports of a robbery.

One of the three robbers was armed with a gun and ordered a clerk to open the store cash register, according to police. The employee opened the register and the armed suspect grabbed cash and ordered him to the floor, police said.

Police said that while the worker was on the floor, the same suspect ordered him to hand over some of his personal property, and the worker complied. Meanwhile, the other two suspects stole bottles of alcohol from the store. The trio then fled out the back of the business on Estates Avenue, according to police.

No one was injured in the incident and all three suspects remain at large, police said. Two of the suspects are both described as Filipino men in their early 20s estimated to be about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and between 130 and 150 pounds, according to police.

One suspect was wearing a light blue hoodie pulled over his head and the other was wearing a gray hoodie over his head, police said. Police said the third suspect was described as a man of unknown race in his 20s who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build wearing a gray hoodie, white T-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Pinole police at (510) 724-8950.
