Student With Box Cutter Has Confrontation at Hercules Middle School

Counterfeit Money Used for Purchase: On April 25, 2013 at 9:18am, an officer was dispatched to the Lucky Store, in the 1500 Block of Sycamore Ave.  The reporting party said, on April 24, 2013 at about 5:30pm, one of the managers was counting the cash drop from one of the self check out machine. The manager noticed (2) two $100 bills appeared counterfeit.  The investigation is continuing.

Commercial Burglary: On April 25, 2013, at 9:23 a.m., an Officer was dispatched to a business, in the 2000 Block of Alfred Nobel.  The reporting party stated fourteen Dell laptop computers, and a Apple computer monitor, were stolen from the business. The incident occurred on 4/23/2013. There were no signs of forced entry. The devices were taken from one area.

Mental Evaluation:  On April 25, at 9:36am, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Heather. The reporting party stated her adult son was behaving erratically. When officers arrived they were told the subject left on foot, and he was armed with a knife.  The subject came out from a side yard, without the knife, and contacted the Officers.  The subject met the criteria for a mental health evaluation; and was transported by ambulance, to the County Regional Medical Center.

Civil Standby: On April 25, 2013, at 10:27am, Officers responded to the 700 block of Alfred Nobel for a civil standby. The property owner wanted to verify the tenant had moved out.

Weapon on School Grounds: On April 25, 2013, at 11:50am, a Hercules Middle High School Resource Officer was advised, by a site supervisor, of a student who brought a knife onto the school grounds. The male juvenile had been brought to the Administration Building; and the knife had already been recovered from him. The suspect was contacted and the weapon was determined to be a box cutter. The suspect reportedly had an altercation the another student; and threatened the other student with the box cutter. The suspect was arrested cite released to a relative.

Reported Stolen Vehicle:  On April 25, 2013, at 6:37pm, an officer was dispatched to the 100 block Mesa court. The reporting party stated he left the keys inside his rented 2013 Silver Malibu, at 4:00pm while he took a nap. When he woke up at 5:pm the vehicle was gone.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE: On April 25, 2013, at 7:48 p.m., officers were working on special assignment looking for stolen vehicles in the West County.  They located an unoccupied, silver 1996, Mazda 626 parked in the 400 block of Bissell Avenue, in Richmond.  The Mazda was reported stolen out of Alameda County April 19, 2013

WARRANT ARREST: On April 25, 2013, at 8:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to Overlook Ct and Overlook Terrace for the report of a suspicious parked red Dodge; with a male and female inside.  Officers contacted the couple and determined that 21 year old Omari Lateef had a citable misdemeanor warrant.  Lateef was written a citation, with a new court date, and released.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION: On April 25, 2013, at 10:26 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Willow Avenue, for a male adult talking to himself.  Officers contacted 59 year old Jeffery Meeks, of Rodeo, and he displayed signs of intoxication.  Meeks was arrested for Public Intoxication and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
