Police Arrest Felon in Possession of Marijuana & Firearm After Traffic Stop

"During the traffic stop the Officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle."

 

A Hercule police officer pulled over a 1999 Ford Explorer Wednesday just after midnight becaue the vehicle had no license plates. This led to the arrest of a 45-year-old Richmond man for possession of marijuana and a firearm. 

"The stop was on Willow Ave. at San Pablo Ave.," according to the Hercules Police Department. "During the traffic stop the Officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, for additional marijuana, the Officer found a loaded handgun and extra ammunition. 45 year old Samuel Luna, of Richmond, was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Ammunition. Luna was also charged with Possession of an Controlled Substance, which were found on his person."
