By Bay City News—

A man who was shot and killed outside a Pinole bar over the weekend has been identified as 30-year-old Richmond resident Earl Hamilton, Jr., a Contra Costa County coroner's deputy said today.

Officers were called shortly after midnight Sunday morning to the Green Lantern bar at 1907 San Pablo Ave., where they found Hamilton lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

No arrests had been made in the killing as of this morning.

Pinole police Chief John Hardester declined to comment further on the case today, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

The killing at the Green Lantern was the first murder in Pinole since last August, when 25-year-old Jeffrey Flores allegedly murdered his grandmother, 76-year-old Nona Jean Flores, and uncle, 54-year-old Tony Flores, in their Tara Hills Drive home, according to police. Flores has been charged with murder for the deaths and is awaiting trial.

Anyone with information on the weekend homicide is asked to call Pinole police at (510) 724-8950.
