A suspect in the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man in Fairfield on Sunday was arrested in Pinole on Wednesday evening, Fairfield police said.

Zavier Pigues, 21, of San Pablo, was found and arrested at about 7 p.m. after leaving a store in a commercial area of Pinole, police said.

He was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of murder. Pigues is suspected in the killing of Brian Beaufort, who was shot in front of his home on Oceanic Court in Fairfield around 3 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Police said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the two men. Pigues is believed to be related to Beaufort's girlfriend and may be her cousin, police Lt. Greg Hurlbut said.
