UPDATE: Rider Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Concord

The crash on Kirker Pass Road, near Hess Road, was reported at 6:27 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

A motorcyclist killed in a crash east of Concord on Sunday evening has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office as 39-year-old Michael Peters.

Peters, a Concord resident, died in the crash reported shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Kirker Pass Road near Hess Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

No other details about the crash were immediately available from
the CHP.

A rider who crashed a motorcycle in Concord Sunday was pronounced dead, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Further details were not immediately available.

A passerby stopped to assist the rider, the CHP reported.

The crashed bike blocked a middle lane for a time, according to the CHP.
