Man Fatally Shot in Tara Hills Community

The incident occurred Monday around 2:50 p.m. in the 2600 block of Cornelius Drive

A 24-year-old man was shot dead in the unincorporated community of Tara Hills on Monday, a sheriff's spokesman said today. The shooting happened around 2:50 p.m. at a home in the 2600 block of Cornelius Drive, according to Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Lee.
 
Deputies arrived to find the victim, whose name has not yet been released, suffering from gunshot wounds. Lee said deputies performed CPR on the man but he died at the scene.

Detectives today continue to follow leads to identify a suspect and establish a motive for the killing, the spokesman said. No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.
