Man Carjacked at Gunpoint While Washing Car in Pinole

A San Pablo man was carjacked at gunpoint Tuesday, police say.

PINOLE (BCN) - A man was carjacked at gunpoint at a car wash in Pinole on Tuesday night, police said Wednesday.

Police said the victim, a 20-year-old San Pablo man, was washing his car at the car wash at 730 Fifth Ave. around 7:40 p.m. when a man approached.

The man pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at the victim and demanded his car keys.

The victim handed over the keys and the suspect got into the car and drove away, heading east on San Pablo Avenue, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid- to late 20s weighing roughly 200 pounds. He was wearing a checkered jacket and dark hat, and his face was partially obscured by a handkerchief, police said.

The vehicle stolen is a white 2001 Mitsubishi Montero with license plate number 4NLA091.
