Loaded Handgun Found on Intoxicated Diabetic Man's Table

It was determined the subject met the criteria for a Mental Health Evaluation.

Hercules police were dispatched to the 700 block of Windsor for a welfare check Tuesday evening. The reporting party said the man at the residence was a diabetic who was extremely intoxicated. 

According to the Hercules Police Department: 

Officers made contact with the male through the window but he was too intoxicated to open the front door. The subject’s daughter arrived and opened the front door for the Officers. The subject was found lying on the floor below the kitchen table. On the table was a loaded handgun. The subject indicated he wanted to hurt himself. It was determined the subject met the criteria for a Mental Health Evaluation.  He was transported, by ambulance to the County Regional Medical Center.  The handgun was taken for safe keeping.
