Identify Theft, Petty Theft, A Missing Juvenile And More from the Hercules Blotter

The following items have been selected and written by the Hercules Police Department

Identity Theft: On July 18, 2013 at 10:14 p.m., a resident from the 200 block of Lilac Cir submitted an online report for identify theft. The reporting party stated someone used his social security number, to open a “Dish” account without, his permission.

Court Order Violation: On July 19, 2013, 3:08 p.m., an officer was dispatched to HPD for a lobby detail. The reporting party said his children’s mother did not show up today for their custody exchange, per a court order.

Petty Theft: On July 19, 2013, at 5:13 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Glenwood for a report of a theft from an auto. The reporting party said someone stole jumper cables, engine oil and anti freeze, from her unlocked vehicle. The incident occurred on July 18, 2013.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol:  On July 20, 2013, at 1:37 a.m., an officer made a traffic stop, on a white 1999 Honda Civic, for unsafe speed.  The stop occurred in the 3900 block of San Pablo Ave.  The driver, 24 year old Joseph Wilson of Oakland, displayed objective symptoms of intoxication.  He was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol.  He was cited and released to a responsible person.

Identity Theft:  On July 20, 2013, a Hercules resident made and online report regarding Identity Theft.  The reporting party stated he received a notice, from a cell provider, of an overdue bill.  The reporting party has never had an account with the company.

Missing Juvenile:  On July 20, 2013, at 5:41 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Apollo, for a missing/runaway juvenile.  The reporting party said her 16 year old daughter ran away sometime after midnight. The juvenile has runaway before, when she lived in Marin.  At approximately 5:30 p.m. the mother reported she located her daughter in Stockton and brought her home.

Structural Fire: On July 20, 2013, at 1:31 p.m., HPD officers were dispatched to a residential fire in the 2200 block of Redwood Rd. The caller said he saw smoke coming from the eaves of the residence. When the first officer arrived he saw the garage of the residence was fully engulfed. Officers determined a passer-by saw a vehicle, inside the garage, on fire. He was able to kick in the front door, and locate an elderly male, in a back bedroom. of the house. The passerby was able to get the male out of the residence, through the garage. The good samaritan sustained minor burns to his forearms. The elderly male had minor scrapes on his knees. Both subjects were treated by Paramedic at the scene. The house next door received minor fire damage but was inhabitable No other homes in the area were structurally damage.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Warrants: On July 21, 2013 at 12:51 a.m. an officer made a traffic stop, for an Illegal U-turn, on San Pablo Avenue, at Sycamore Avenue. The stop was completed on State Route 4 at San Pablo Ave. The driver showed objective symptoms of intoxication, but refused all tests. 30 year old Jerry Moore, of Vallejo, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  It was determined the subject did not have a valid driver’s license.  Moore was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest: During the above vehicle stop, the officer determined the passenger, 26 year old Martiza Zarate of Vallejo, had an outstanding citable warrant.  Zarate was cited, with a new court date, and released at the scene.

Miscellaneous Animal Complaint: On July 21, 2013 at 5:25 p.m. a Hercules resident reported she was on a walk when she was confronted, and bitten on the ankle, by a small dog. The dog was unsecured, in the 200 block of Iris Rd. The owner of the dog was contacted and stated he was unsure how the dog escaped from the back yard. Animal control was notified.

Armed Robbery: On July 22, 2013 at 4:40 a.m. an adult male (victim) was using the ATM at Wells Fargo Bank. An African American male walked up, pointed a gun at the victim, and demanded money. The victim dropped his wallet and the suspect picked up the wallet and fled. The suspect was last seen running towards Refugio Valley Park. The suspect was described as being in his late teens; 5-7; 150 lbs; wearing blue jeans, a black sweatshirt, black baseball hat, and a blue bandana across his face. Officers checked the park, but no suspect was located.
