Hercules Police Weekend Blotter: Auto Theft, Identity Theft

The Hercules Police Department selected and wrote the following items. 

Friday, Dec. 27

Vehicle Tampering/Attempted Theft:  On December 27, 2013 at 7:41am an officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of Willow Ave for a report of a possible vehicle tampering. The reporting party stated, on December 26, 2013 at 5:00pm, she parked her 2010 Chevy Tahoe in a parking stall near the entrance to her complex. She returned this morning, at about 7:30am, and noticed the center caps to her wheels were missing. The reporting party entered her vehicle and drove to drive to work. While driving on Interstate 80 she began to hear a thumping noise. She realized there was some type of problem with her vehicle and returned home. The officer examined the vehicle and saw that all four center caps for the wheels were missing. He also noticed that several of the lug nuts were loose.

Stolen Vehicle: On December 27, 2013 at about 4:00pm an officer was dispatched to HPD for a lobby detail. The reporting party said sometime between 11:00pm last night and 3:30pm today, an unknown suspect(s) stole his white 1995 GMC 2500 from in front of his residence, in the 3100 block of North Front St.

Identity Theft: December 27, 2013 a resident, from Amber Ct, submitted an online report regarding identity theft. The victim was checking her Best Buy, bill online, to make a payment. She noticed a charge made on December 11, 2013, for $693.00, which she did make or authorize. The victim immediately called BestBuy.com and was told it was an Apple Ipad that was purchased. The victim put a stop on the order (they were not sure if it left the warehouse yet) and was referred to their Fraud Dept.

Saturday, Dec. 28

Driving under the Influence of Alcohol: On December 28, 2013, 2:11 am, officer made a traffic stop on a 05 Buick. The driver: 22 year old Nicholas Pallotta, of Crockett, displayed objective signs of driving under the influence of alcohol. He refused to do the Standard Field Sobriety Test.   He consented to blow in to the Preliminary Alcohol Screening (PAS) device, and results showed his blood alcohol to be over the legal limit. Pallotta was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. He cited and released to a responsible party.

Sunday, Dec. 29

Stolen Vehicle:  On December 29, 2013 at 7:55 a.m. an officer responded to the 200 block of Titan Way to take a report for a stolen vehicle.  The reporting party said his Black ’02 Chevy Tahoe was last seen parked at 0300 HRS.  The Tahoe has Silver and Black 22” chrome rims.
