Hercules Police Blotter: Vandalism, Residential Burglary

November 7

Vandalism: On November 7, 2013, at 2:41 am, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Avocet for a loud male subject in the alley way. The officers arrived and they found 25 year old Hector Santiago of Berkeley, standing in the alley way. Santiago had been knocking on the front door of a residence because he thought he left his cell phone inside. His girlfriend, who was inside the residence refused to open the door because Santiago was drunk. Santiago broke the glass portion of the front door while he was knocking. The girlfriend was house sitting for the home owners, who were away on vacation. A case was taken for documentation.

Traffic Collision: On November 7, 2013 at 8:10 am officer responded to an injury accident at the HMHS campus. Two students were driving their vehicles’ in the junior parking lot in the opposite direction when they collided. There was moderate damage to both vehicles. A student passenger was taken to the hospital by ambulance for complaint of pain to her head. One of the drivers was transported to the hospital by her parent.

 Vehicle Burglary: On November 7, 2013 at 4:05 pm a Tiburon resident reported someone broke into her rental car by smashing the right rear window. The burglary occurred in the parking lot in the 3500 block of Franklin Canyon Road between 10:30 am and time of call. A purse was stolen containing the victim’s identification, credit cards, and cash.

 Residential Burglary: On November 7, 2013 5:45 pm officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Pheasant for a residential burglary report. Sometime between 8:30 am and time of call unknown suspect(s) forced open the front door. Stolen from the residence were a laptop and a video game console with games. The residence was not ransacked during the theft. The residence was processed for evidence.

Missing Adult: On November 7, 2013, at 10:35 pm, officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Bobolink Way for a missing person report. The resident said that he and wife had a verbal argument. She left the residence and drove away in her vehicle, but did not take her medication. Dispatch entered her and the vehicle into the system as missing. She returned home at 11:40 pm and she was removed from the system.

Possession of Controlled Substance: On November 7, 2013, at 11:57 pm, an officer made a pedestrian stop on 45 year old William Brossard of Hercules. Brossard is on probation for DUI with a search clause. Officer found suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe on Brossard. He was arrested and transported to jail.

November 8

Driving Under the Influence/ Traffic Collision: On November 8, 2013 at 4:45 am, officers were dispatched to Willow Avenue near Mariners Point for a traffic collision. Officers arrived on scene and they saw a Toyota stopped on the middle island of Willow Ave. The officer contacted the driver, 20 year old Keshara Crawford (of Vallejo) sitting in the driver’s seat. Crawford displayed signs of driving under the influence of alcohol. After a DUI investigation she was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Vehicle Burglary: On November 8, 2013 at 9:14 am an officer was dispatched to Fremont Court for a report of a vehicle burglary. The victim said she parked and locked her car at the end of the court in the evening and when she returned to her car this morning the driver’s door was unlocked and open. Clothing, registration papers, and a case of CDs were stolen.

Warrant Arrest: On November 8, 2013 at 10:11 am an officer contacted a pedestrian, 47 year old James Calvin Petroff, on San Pablo Avenue at Victoria Crescent West. Petroff was determined to have an arrest warrant for possession of a stolen car. He was arrested and transported to jail.

 Hit and Run Collision: On November 8, 2013 at 4:48 pm and officer was dispatched to the 2000 block of Lewis for a report of a hit and run collision. The resident reported her vehicle was hit while it was parked in front of her residence. A witness saw the suspect vehicle hit the parked car and flee on November 5th at 4:00 am. A collision report was taken.
