A fire weather watch was imposed in the East Bay as weather forecasters said there is a slight chance of thunderstorms rolling through the area Sunday.
Officials at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration put the warning into effect from 8 p.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Forecasters said lightning could strike parts of the East Bay and North Bay that were blistered by 100-plus temperatures on Saturday. Lightning isn't expected in urban areas or near the coast, but it could hit dry grass land inland.
In the Pinole-Hercules area on Sunday, the high temperature is only expected to hit 68 degrees, but there is the chance of thunderstorms.
