Fight at the Middle School and More from Hercules PD

The following police blotter items are selected and written by the Hercules Police Department.

Fight at the Hercules Middle High School Campus: On Oct. 1 at 10:43 AM, Officers responded to the high school campus for a report of a large physical fight. The fight was determined to be between two female students and the large crowd was just spectators. Both students were taken to the office and disciplined administratively. The crowd was dispersed before responding officers’ arrival.

Possession of a Controlled Substance:  On Oct. 1 at 14:29 PM, an Officer initiated a consensual pedestrian stop, of a male subject, on San Pablo Ave near Market Hall. During the encounter the subject consented to a search of his person. The Officer located two small clear plastic baggies, containing what appeared to be a controlled substance, in the subject’s front sweater pocket.  33 year old James Russell Allen II, of Richmond was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Coroners Case-Apparent Natural Death:  October 1, 2012 at 6:45 PM Hercules units responded to the 100 block of Pepperwood. The reporting party said an elderly female had fallen, and may have died. When Officer arrived they found a 95-year-old female, lying on the floor upstairs, not breathing. Rodeo-Hercules Fire paramedics pronounced the female deceased at 6:53 PM. The family reported the female had numerous medical problems, and was under a Doctor’s care. There were no signs of foul play. A Police Chaplin was called and responded to assist the family.

Carjacking: Oct. 1 at 8:41 PM Officers responded to the 1500 block of Chelsea Ct on the report of a Carjacking. Hercules units checked the area for the stolen black 2003 Toyota Solara, with negative results. The victim reported he drove to Chelsea Ct to visit his mother. Later he and his brother returned to the vehicle and prepared to leave. Just as they got into the car the two males approached them, wearing ski masks, and carrying semi-automatic pistols. The suspects demanded the victim’s property and vehicle. The suspects were both described as Afro- American males; 20 to 28 years of age; 5’ 10”; and 150 lbs. One suspect was wearing a black and red jacket, and blue jeans. The second suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Possession Of a Stolen Vehicle: Oct. 2, at 4:00 AM Hercules units were dispatched to a vehicle in the bushes, at Sycamore and Palm. Upon arrival Officers located the vehicle, and two subjects around the vehicle. The vehicle was determined to be an unreported stolen vehicle from Richmond.  25 year old Darjan Dowell, of Richmond, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.  He was transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
