Thursday-Sunday Log (3-22 to 3-25): Death Threats, Runaway Teen, Man Gives Minor Lustful Note

The following cases only reflect actual cases taken. Calls for service not generating written reports are not usually listed.

Fraud: On March 22, 2012 at 10:20 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Paradise reported fraudulent activity on her credit card. The suspect is a relative who did not have permission to use the account. This case is under investigation.

 

Warrant Arrest: On March 22, 2012 at 1:25 p.m., an Officer contacted a 47-year-old Hercules man. The man had a warrant for his arrest for a sex crime. He also is a sex registrant. He was arrest and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Stolen Vehicle: On March 23, 2012 at 7:06 a.m., a resident from the 1000 block of Promenade called to report his car stolen. He indicated he heard his 1987 Honda Accord (CA plate 2ELA256) start at 6:15 a.m. The victim got into another vehicle and chased his stolen car, losing sight of it in the 3000 block of San Pablo Avenue. Police were not notified for fifty minutes from the time the car was stolen.

Commercial Burglary: On March 23, 2012 at 7:38 a.m., an Officer was flagged down by a citizen regarding a subject who had just stolen items from a business in the 1600 block of Sycamore. The subject was located in the 1700 block of Sycamore Avenue. The man in question was contacted and determined to be on probation for drug violations. He had items in his possession that were determined to be stolen from the business. He was arrested and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

 

Mental Health Evaluation: On March 23, 2012 at 11:09 a.m., a female knocked on the door of a residence in the 400 block of Sparrow. She told the resident she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, who lives in the area. Involved parties were contacted and it was determined the female had inflicted her injuries herself. She was sent to Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.

 

Intoxicated Student: On March 23, 2012 at 12:36 p.m., a juvenile at Hercules Middle High School was contacted for being suspected of drinking alcohol. The student ran from police, but was caught shortly after running. The student was arrested and sent to the hospital due to his intoxication. The school is taking administrative measures again the student.

 

Possession of Controlled Substances: On March 23, 2012 at 1:39 p.m., an Officer stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of Sycamore Avenue. The passenger, a 29-year-old Hercules man was determined to be on probation. During a search a quantity of methamphetamine was located. He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

 

Suspicious Circumstance: On March 23, 2012 at 3:31 p.m., a daycare provider in the 100 block of Quail called to report the father of a child at the center attempted to pick up his son, although he no longer has custody. The subject was gone upon Police arrival and the case is under investigation.

 

Annoying Children: On March 23, 2012 at 5:08 p.m., a parent of a 15-year-old female Hercules Middle High School student called to report a suspicious circumstance. An adult male approached her daughter last Monday at a business in the 1500 block of Sycamore Avenue to give her a card. On the card was a letter written to the juvenile stating he had been watching her since 2009. This case is under investigation.

 

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol: On March 23, 2012 at 7:40 p.m., an Officer stopped a 42-year-old American Canyon man in the 4000 block of San Pablo Avenue. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and submitted to a breath test. He was released pending the District Attorney’s Office review.

 

Stolen Vehicle, Parole Hold, Evading Police: On March 23, 2012 at 7:41 p.m., a Hercules Officer, with assistance from Pinole Police, responded to a domestic physical fight in the 500 block of Athena. The suspect, 39-year-old Hercules man, allegedly said he was going to return with a weapon to harm the victim, police said.  The man, who is on active parole for spousal battery took the victim’s car keys and stole her Chevy Impala. He was seen driving reckless and spun out on San Pablo Avenue. He continued to drive, running a red light. A Pinole P.D. Officer followed the man and was able to catch up to him as he entered W/B I-80 from John Muir Parkway. The Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the man, who led the Officer on a vehicle pursuit.  The pursuit was terminated on W/B I-80 near Carlson Blvd. due to high suspect vehicle speed. A California Highway Patrol helicopter tracked the man and the Impala.  He again lost control and collided with the center divider barrier and spun out on W/B I-80 near Albany.  Pinole P.D. was able to get to the collision scene and arrest Stubbs. Stubbs was turned over to Hercules Police. The was transported to County Hospital to be medically cleared from the collision. Upon being medically cleared he transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

 

Runaway Juvenile: On March 23, 2012 at 8:16 p.m., a counselor at a group home on Hawk Court called to report a 17-year-old left the group home without permission. The juvenile had last been seen at 3:00 p.m. An Officer responded, took a report, and entered the juvenile in the missing persons’ system.

 

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: On March 24, 2012 at 3:08 a.m., an Officer located an unoccupied stolen vehicle on Lotus Court. The vehicle, a white 1993 Nissan Sentra had been reported stolen on March 23 from Crockett.

 

Phone Threats: On March 24, 2012 at 2:20 p.m., a resident from the 1200 block of Willow Avenue reported receiving a threatening phone call from the father of her baby. The victim stated the 22-year-old man was going to go to her apartment to shoot and kill her, her father, and step brother, police said. This case is under investigation.

 

Runaway Juvenile: On March 24, 2012 at 9:18 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Dartford called to report his 15-year-old son had left the residence on March 22 without permission. The last time the juvenile had run away he was gone for three months. The juvenile was entered into the missing persons’ system.

 

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol: On March 25, 2012 at 3:14 a.m., an Officer stopped 23-year-old San Francisco man in the 800 block of Willow Avenue. He was arrested on suspicion driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a switch blade knife. He provided a breath sample and released with a citation. A passenger in the vehicle, a 20-year-old San Francisco man had an arrest warrant for vandalism and trespassing. He was arrested and later issued a citation for the warrant.
