5 Arrested in Connection with Shooting Death of Man Outside Green Lantern

Police officials say all five suspects arrested are affiliated with the Norteno street gang.

By Bay City News—

Five suspects with alleged gang affiliations have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Richmond man outside of a bar in Pinole last month.

Police said officers on Monday arrested Richmond residents David Arce, 24, Eduardo Bonilla, 29, and 27-year-old Thomas Burk on suspicion of murder in connection with the Feb. 2 fatal shooting of 30-year-old Earl Hamilton, Jr. outside of the Green Lantern Bar in Pinole.

Stephanie Arce, 24, and 25-year-old Christina Oneto, both from Richmond, were also arrested on suspicion of being accessories to murder, according to police. Pinole police Sgt. Matt Avery said all five suspects are affiliated with the Norteno street gang but he said he didn't know whether the victim, who was also a Richmond resident, had any gang affiliation.

The arrests were made with the aid of Richmond and San Pablo police, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office and the FBI, according to police. All five suspects were taken to county jail in Martinez.

Stephanie Arce has been released on bail, but the remaining four suspects remained in custody as of this afternoon, according to jail records. Hamilton died from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Green Lantern Bar a short time after midnight on Feb. 2. His killing was the first homicide in Pinole this year.
