Pinole-Hercules Death Notices

Some of the people with connections to Pinole and Hercules who passed away recently

Maryellen McCormick, a resident of El Cerrito, was city clerk of Hercules for more than five years in the 1970s. McCormick also served as El Cerrito city clerk for 30 years, beginning in 1942. She passed away on July 12 at the age of 97.

Robert Herwat, a resident of Rodeo, was a U.S. Navy veteran who was stationed on submarines and served in World War II.  He was a retired member of the Local 342 Steamfitters and a member of Odd Fellows Lodge 100F. He was a frequent visitor to the Pinole Senior Center. Herwat passed away on July 23 at the age of 90.

Irene A. Fujikawa, a resident of Vacavaille, she lived in Hercules for 20 years. Fujikawa was a member of the Berkeley Higashi Honganji Temple. She passed away on July 30 at the age of 88.
