A memorial service is planned for Saturday in Pleasanton.

By Angela Machen

Ernest "Ernie" Harold Woodfeldt grew up in Pinole and graduated Pinole High School in 1974. He continued his education at San Francisco State University where he earned a BA and an MBA. He worked for 28 years for Pacific Bell/SBC/AT&T as a Senior Financial Analyst.

Ernie was a faithful servant and a man of God. His highest personal achievement was raising his son, Scott Woodfeldt. He loved his family and his friends deeply and everyone enjoyed his company and his great "booming" laugh. He was active in many outdoor activities: camping, hiking, swimming, river rafting and biking.

Ernie will be deeply missed by his son Scott Woodfeldt of Dublin, CA, his mother, Lois Woodfeldt of Vacaville, his sisters, Paula (Dan) Eeds of Pinole, CA and Rita Orr of Vacaville, CA, and his cousins, nieces and nephews. His father, Arthur J. Woodfeldt, preceded him in death.

His funeral will be at 12 p.m. on August 24 at Graham-Hitch Mortuary, 4167 First Street in Pleasanton. A celebration reception will follow the service at Pleasanton Gardens, 251 Kottinger Drive.

Visitations at Graham-Hitch will be on August 22 and 23, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A second celebration will be held on Sept. 21, 2013, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ernie's childhood home in Pinole at 2316 Doidge Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Heavenly Hills Christian Camp, P.O. Box 1628, Twain Harte, CA 95383 and Pleasanton Military Families, 4411 Shearwater Court, Pleasanton, CA 94566.

Condolences to the family may be left on Ernie's online memorial website at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Erniewoodfeldtmemorial/
