History of Bullying at Hercules High

Last school year, Janet Headington and I went to meetings together to see Superintendent Harter and Emily Millar, who led Human Resources. Ms. Millar's response to Ms. Headington was shocking; rolling her eyes, belittling Janet's descriptions of how students were being treated, and the impact of those actions on her students. When I reported what I had learned from Justin Bautista Jones about how adults were bullying him to Bruce Harter he told me it was hearsay. Janet Headington stood up for Justin, and other students who were bullied. She was then treated horribly by Principal Jen Bender, whose direct actions toward Janet created a toxic, hostile workplace. Janet became sick, went out on medical leave, and now has been involuntarily transferred to Vista High. This is flat out wrong!
