Volunteer Literacy Tutors Needed!

Project Second Chance, the Contra Costa County Library adult literacy program, is offering training for volunteer tutors. Volunteers are needed to help adults who want to improve basic reading, writing and spelling skills. The training takes place on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 6:30 - 8:30 pm and the following two Saturdays from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. All 14 hours are required.

To take the training, you must pre-register. Registration begins on December 11, 2013 and closes when all spots are full. Training takes place at the Pleasant Hill Library, but tutoring can take place at the library of your choice. Apply on-line at http://ccclib.org/psc/tutors/html.
