Red Cross Offers Aid to Carson Street Residents

Residents affected by the Carson Street landslide may call 888-443-5722.

The Red Cross has offered 24-hour food, shelter and health services to those affected by the landslide.

“We are the first-responders," said Red Cross Spokesman Jim Mallory. When Red Cross dispatchers get a call requesting aid, Red Cross relief teams are sent out to the disaster site to determine what kind of help is needed. If people are displaced, as in the Carson Street landslide case, the Red Cross can provide motel rooms and money for food and supplies.

“When our disaster assistance team gets there…our job is take care of the immediate needs of victims,” Mallory said.
