As of today, we have merged Hercules and Pinole Patch in an effort to strengthen our coverage of both communities. Based on the ways we’ve seen you — our faithful readers and advertisers — use the two sites, it was just good common sense to combine them. Now, instead of asking you to check two sites for the news and information you need from Pinole and Hercules you’ll have it all in one place: right here on [link]!
We’ll still be offering the same robust coverage of everything happening in both Hercules and Pinole. In fact, this is meant to help us provide better coverage of the things that matter to residents of both communities — which is something we’re always striving to do!
Readers of Hercules Patch will be pleased to learn that Laila Kearney, who launched Hercules Patch and has doggedly followed the story of Hercules’s financial problems through its many twists and turns, will be staying with Patch in the East Bay. Rob Shea, already familiar to readers of Pinole Patch will be the local editor for the new merged site. Rob has many years of experience reporting in West Contra Costa County and is eager to be covering both cities. He’ll be holding office hours every day this week in Hercules, so stop by and say hello.
As always, let us know what you think.
Rob invites readers to stop by for from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Willow Avenue Starbucks on Friday, Aug 24. Stop by to say hi or to offer comments, questions and suggestions. Additonal office hours will be scheduled for other Hercules times and locations next week.
