Historic Pinole: Fernandez Mansion Featured in New York Times

Photos of iconic home and its decor.

This week's Historic Pinole mixes past and present. The New York Times and The Bay Citizen published some photos and historic facts about the Fernandez Mansion online on Sunday.

The article includes some history about items in the front yard of the house, which has been owned by the Mariotti family since 1969. It also describes the architecture of the Tennent Avenue home and the reported presence of elk and grizzly bears in the area in the 1770s.

The print edition of the Times also published the story.
