Adoption Fees Waived for "Senior" Felines During June

Contra Costa County animal shelters are offering an incentive to adopt cats that are 7 years or older.

There's no doubt that most of us find kittens to be adorable. Equally true is that they also grow up to become cats. Some of them, for various reasons, find themselves needing new homes.

So during June, the Contra Costa Animal Services Department will be waiving fees on cat adoptions for pets over the age of 7 years. With the arrival of "kitten season" older cats can lose their appeal in comparison to their sons and daughters.
