20-Year-Old Home Depot Employee Busted for Cash Register Embezzlement

20 year old Angel Antonio Gutierrez, of Richmond, would have acquaintances come through his line and sell them expensive items for $1, police say.

After a Hercules Home Depot employee's register came up short on multiple occasions, a Loss Prevention Manager opened an investigation that led to an employee's arrest on Monday.

"It was determined that 20 year old Angel Antonio Gutierrez, of Richmond, would have acquaintances come through his line and sell them expensive items for $1," Hercules Police said in a release. "The acquaintances would later return the items to other Home Depots and receive full cash value for the item. Gutierrez was arrested for Embezzlement and Commercial Burglary.  He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.  The investigation is continuing."
