GET OUT: Weekend Festivals and All That Jazz

The weekend is here, West County.

Where/When: Sardine Can, Vallejo; Sunday, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Why Go: The party lasts all summer! Sundays are jazz nights at Vallejo’s Sardine Can. Come for a seafood dinner and enjoy the music.

Where/When: 1901 Ashby Ave., Berkeley Saturday, all day

Why Go: Closing night gala fundraiser for tuition assistance. Jesus Christ Superstar is the rock opera classic that presents the story of the last seven days of Jesus of Nazereth as seen from the perspective of Judas Iscariot.

Where/When: First St. & East B St., Benicia; Saturday, 11 a.m.

Why Go: This all-day street festival has a lot to offer for the whole family: music, food, classic cars and entertainment.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: , 10341 San Pablo Ave., El Cerrito; Saturday, 1 p.m.

Why Go: Leon Rosselson is an acclaimed singer and songwriter as well the author of 17 children's books. Last year he celebrated his 50th year of performing and his 75th birthday.

5. Recreation Public Swim

Where/When: , 2001 Refugio Valley Rd. (swimming pool deck); Friday and Saturday, 1:30 p.m.-5 p.m.

Why Go: Come cool off in the pool.

Pricing: Residents: $3 youth and seniors; $4 adults. Non-residents: $4 youth and seniors, $5 adults
