GET OUT: Singles with Pets, Read On

A variety of events and activities await you this weekend in West Contra Costa County

1.

Where/When: Contra Costa Civic Theater, El Cerrito; Friday, Saturday at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: Life isn’t easy for the MaGrath sisters of Hazlehurst, Mississippi. Lenny’s horse is dead, Meg’s singing career is dead and Babe’s husband is near-dead (because she shot him!). But nothing—not meddling cousins, past and present lovers, a touch of mental illness—can keep these women down.
